Community Sharing Series
"Lyme residents sharing their expertise with their community"

This series will continue in the Fall of 2010.  Please call the library if there is a skill you would like to learn, or a skill you could teach!

Jan 27 (Weds) - 7 pm - Learn to play Mahjongg with Vicki Smith

Feb 10 (Weds): 3 pm and 7 pm - Needle felting with Rachel Donegan.  Afternoon program for adults only. Evening program - parents with middle or high school students are welcome.  Materials fee of $3Preregistration is requested.

Mar 16 (Tue): 2:30 AND 7 pm - What Do I Do with My Old Books:  Mend Them, Sell Them, Recycle Them?  This program is born out of a request for a book mending program.
  • Sue Ryan, who does all the library's book mending, will recommend materials and provide a demonstration.
  • Betsy Eaton will talk about rebinding books and if enough people are interested, organize a group order.
  • Robin Model-Lornitzo will talk about how to evaluate a book and determine its value.
  • Lauri Rich will talk about how to recycle books that, unfortunately, no one wants.
You are encouraged to bring a book to mend and a book to evaluate.
